The primary
task of the candidate will be to write and
execute performance testing on various VTL/NAS
backup systems. The candidate will work
closely with the development team to write a
complete and detailed performance test plan
to measure I/O, CPU and memory utilization,
identifying performance bottleneck to help
engineer solve performance problem.
Candidate must have prior experience with
analyzing and capturing performance data for
disk & tape systems. Candidate must be able
to install backup applications (NBU, BE,
legato, etc) to perform the tests. Candidate
must be able to perform multiple tasks
simultaneously and be able to keep a
detailed log of all his/her test activities.
Candidate must be able to work independently
and must have prior experience with
performance data collection for disk storage
and/or backup systems.
Knowledge of storage protocols like NFS,
CIFS, iSCSI & FCP. Required proficiency in
Perl, Phython or similar scripting language.
Experience running & automating performance
benchmarks. Must be familiar with backup
applications like NBU, BE, CA, Legato.
Complex problem-solving skill. Experience
and working knowledge of Windows, Linux, and
Solaris is highly desirable., Experience in
configuring servers/switches/RAID and test
hosts. Experience with installation,
configuration and troubleshooting of
networking products and storage devices.,
Education required: BS in Technical area, or
equivalent experience, Good written and
verbal communication skills.
